Celebrating Baptism
We believe baptism is a beautiful, biblical declaration of new life in Jesus!
The apostle Paul explains in Romans 6:1-11 that the sacrament of baptism portrays the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our immersion in the water represents Christ’s death, and our coming out of the water illustrates His resurrection.
If you are interested in being baptized, we’d be honored to help you take that step.

Most frequently asked questions and their answers
When you come to faith in Christ, an inner change takes place. Baptism is the outward symbol of the inward commitment you have made to Jesus Christ. It is the first step of obedience in your journey with Jesus and a public statement of your faith.
Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ can do that. Rather, it is a step of obedience and a public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the believer’s death, burial, and resurrection with Jesus to walk in newness of life. Much like a wedding ring, baptism is an outward symbol of the commitment you have made in your heart.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. It is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” —Ephesians 2: 8, 9
On a Sunday morning, you can wait in the seats for your time to be baptized – usually after the first time of worship. The pastor will briefly explain the meaning of baptism and he or someone will introduce you and call your up. The pastor (or person baptizing you) will then ask you just a few yes or no questions and all you have to do is answer honestly. Then you will get into the water and whoever is baptizing you will briefly lower you under the water and immediately bring you back up, and then you can leave the pool, dry off and watch any others.
We encourage you to invite family and friends to attend your baptism.
Of course!! We will work with you to make baptism a great experience. We can work with individuals to help them transfer from their wheelchair to the tub/pool, provide people with extra time to get into the water due to an injury, and sprinkle individuals with water if getting into the tub is simply not an option.
When you speak to your pastor about baptism, simply share your situation and we will make note of it!
Yes! We have had people in our church who were baptized before they fully understood the choice they were making, and who choose to be baptized now, as a sign of their commitment to following Christ.
Being baptized as an adult does not minimize the decision made by your loved ones when you were small, but instead marks your desire to publicly proclaim your faith as an adult.
