JR Zarate is a Venezuelan pastor, married for 22 years to Ana, his beloved and wonderful help. JR and Ana have three children, Juan Manuel, Ana Victoria and Juan Pablo, who are part of their inheritance; they are his first Church. JR is an avid reader of apologetics and is passionate about helping marriages and motivating people.

JR and Ana have served for 29 years as leaders in their local church. JR was part of a health team and missions team serving indigenous groups at the border of his country. He was a youth leader and director of the Christian education department of his original Church. In 2002, JR completed the Biblical and Theological studies with the Bible Training Centre for Pastors in Denton, TX, in convention with the International Theological College of Venezuela. JR was part of two church planting projects in Venezuela as an associate pastor and as a senior pastor. He is a dentist, specializing in prosthetics from The UCV and a retired senior professor at the University of Carabobo and now is finishing a Phd in management. In 2015 and 2016 he was a visiting professor at the Dental College of The Ohio State University.

Now JR’s family has this new call from God to plant CenterPoint Church’s Bilingual Hispanic campus in Columbus. They are so excited to see many lives transformed by God! He loves baseball and the Ohio State football team. He speaks French and is learning English. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with the family and watching inspiring films.
